He talked up the Democrats as lefties, and spoke to this man’s basic patriotism and sense that his idea of what America is, was being eroded. Trump, Fox News and conspiracy theorists on social media got into this man’s psyche and warped his reality. It is sad to see an otherwise intelligent man with distinguished service to his country have his views skewed in this way.

@K9Kohle789 People can be very selective in what they hear and see when they get into a certain mindset. Just look at all the people who are selective in picking and choosing which passages from the Bible they like and ignoring others, or the German people who never knew a thing about gas chambers and concentration camps even when they were on their doorsteps! The human mind has an endless capacity for self deception when it fits in with views held....it’s what all demagogues depend on.
