I have seen one lizard in Pennsylvania in my entire life. In the wild, that is.😉

@JimG I know that feeling, having grown up in IN. A huge perk of moving to GA is the very prevalent herp population. (:

@Zster We have snakes and turtles which are fairly common. When I saw the lizard I initially kept walking past it thinking that it was some kind of newt, but it didn't look quite right. After I'd walked maybe 25 feet away, it occurred to me what was wrong; and like a loud voice emphatically yelling inside my head I thought, 'Damn it, that salamander had scales.'

It had disappeared when I went back for another look.
