i have no clue (pun intended) why my comment disappeared, but i'm still in favor of anything Sherlock Holmes, up to the newer spin by Laurie R. King: the Mary Russell & Sherlock Holmes series.

Great authors none the less. I think the British has a great command of our language.

My favorite author of all time is Dorothy L. Sayers! After my divorce I needed a new last name, and took Wimsey, after her chief subject!

Gaudy Night is both a great mystery and an even better romance. Sigh.
