LINK Republicans Are Twisting a Congressman’s Defense of Church/State Separation | Hemant Mehta | Friendly Atheist | Patheos

On Thursday, just before the U.S. House passed the Equality Act, which would expand the Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, Rep. Jerry Nadler gave a speech responding to some of his Republican colleagues’ points.

Some of them were saying the Equality Act was “anti-faith” and that the bill would move the country “away from our Judeo-Christian values.”

Rep. Greg Steube was even more blunt with his lie:

“The gender confusion that exists in our culture today is a clear rejection of God’s good design,” he said. “Whenever a nation’s laws no longer reflect the standards of God, that nation is in rebellion against him and will inevitably bear the consequences.”

We now all recognize the Christian Nationalist Fascists for what they are; Nazi wannabes. If they are capable of truth, it is only by accident, like a broken clock. Absent are honor, integrity, critical thinking and a host of other attributes, not least of which is loyalty to the Constitution and the Country. They are Fake Americans, and degraded human beings. Their defects render them unfit for office, and have no agenda other than to obstruct Democrat efforts to improve the country.

The Constitution doesn't sit well with these lunatics. It's scary
