Just when A.O.F. F.F. E. crew thought that they had cleared up the stack of bridge timbers they get another 'surprise' courtesy of the R.M.A.
That stack was just the first of 2 more yet to be brought into town from remote storage locations.
We did deliveries on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, the most in need households on the list got approx. 1.5 tonnes of ready cut and split firewood delivered and conveniently stacked as well.
So, out of the pile of approx. 38.78 tonnes, we've delivered up 28.5 tonnes already, in return, and quite unexpectedly, we created 15+ huge ear to ear smiles, got hugs from elderly ladies and were offered more cups of tea/coffee than we could imagine.
And the good news is that we have 3 more volunteers, 2 of whom are retired Chimney Sweeps who still have ALL of their equipment.
They plan to got to each house on the list over the next week or so and clean the chimneys FREE of Charge.
So, a "Good onyas" to the Crew, New chums Scrubba and Woody may well be in order here I think.
