Exactly! The click bait question above is foolish!
Many people see the words “peer-reviewed” as guarantees of quality.
When continued government ( i.e., taxpayer ) funding rewards the endeavor, the peers who did the reviewing may have been allies of those who did the research. Think Big Bang cosmology.
