The scientific outlook is fighting an uphill battle against the evolved nature of H.sapiens. It has been lost in dark ages before, and no doubt will be again. It is more precious and fragile than we realize.

A recent editorial suggested that other intelligent life forms have existed right here in our galaxy. Problem is, even in our own world, far less than 1% of species that have ever existed are still around. Species go extinct, intelligent or not. It was also stated that probably most or all of the intelligent species in the Milky have gone extinct and this will include our species.

As far as the prediction goes it is one I have not heard but many scientists, especially those in the science of population demographics, have predicted this time will come and it will start with the political systems.

Yes, probably unfortunately true. The Great Filter Theory at work.
