Are adult male violence and MGM, male genital mutilation or circumcision, correlated?

I believe that's a leap that hasn't really been adequately studied.

I have no references at hand right now, but I have read that MGM and circumcision can create emotional trauma, and that the scar tissue of circumcision can inhibit the sexual pleasure of men. I see no purpose for the practice and would have refused it had I had a son.

Have you ever known a man who had to get "mutilated" as an adult?
.I have.....his foreskin opening was closing & "hardening" so it ripped & bled every time he got an erection, making more scar tissue, causing more ripping....)
It is a damned Mess, delicate surgery, with serious potential for further problems....you need to get some Facts here!

Among the facts I want are these.

Is there any info on whether cutting him would have prevented that or a related problem?

Does his having that perhaps genetic problem justify.cutting many millions of men?

@yvilletom my once upon a time boyfriend, got an education!!
He was a perfectly normal guy, aged 42, not Jewish, just uncircumsized.
There Is a name for the condition which I cannot recall, so it must be fairly common., and there was a specialist surgeon he had to go to....we are rural/suburban & even back then he did not have to go to a big city to see the specialist.
The surgeon did a good job, it looked /worked perfectly normally (after extensive down-time, he had to carry freeze-spray for Weeks & use it immediately upon even a slight sign of an elrection or risk ripping up the delicate stitching of the surgery.)
Afterwards he could get an erection as normal. He said same sensations, just no more infections/ tearing as the narrowing opening causing infections as well as trauma. (Before surgery it getting harder to keep clean was the first sign of trouble.)

No, and I base that on absolutely no research except personal experience.

I don't understand the biological correlation. Women who suffer from FGM have not acquired violent tendencies, and neither of these abuses changes the levels of testosterone or estrogen of their victims.

Could you translate this question into common English?

Circumcision, painful enough that infant boys scream or go into shock, has consequences.

Ronald Goldman's book, titled Circumcision, The Hidden Trauma says adult male violence and much more, may be one of those consequences.

Your take?

@yvilletom I do regret having my son circumcised basically because I think they cut his foreskin extra short and that may be affecting his sexual pleasure. I did it because I was married to a man who was uncircumcised and not clean enough. My doctor advised me that it would make it easier for him to keep himself clean and protect his wife from infection.
That said, if your premises were correct the Jewish people would all be extremely violent and it appears that only half of them are.

@Lorajay Whoa !!! My premises did not include extreme violence, Jewish females, or uncut Jewish males.

@yvilletom I used the Jews as an example. I did not realize it but Islam sects often require circumcision. If you're not talking about public violence I guess you're talking about family violence and Jews are not known for family violence anymore than any other ethnicity. Looking at this table it appears that Afghans are usually circumcised. We've all been told that the Afghans are very violent males both domestically and socially. I think that tells me that circumcision is not the cause of the violence but upbringing and custom often encourage violent male actions.

Ohferpetessake.

Has Pete ever responded?

@yvilletom FYI the first time used this useful phrase on here,on here, some guy had a Cow, ranting about using "a religious term on an agnostic site". Good thing i have a ready supply of "WTF??!!" Can't remember if he was a "pete"......

Testosterone flooding of the male brain is more likely to cause male violence. Just guessing here. Peace!

I don't think there's a correlation. The Nazis used to make men drop their pants, as German Gentiles weren't circumcized. The Nazis were a very peaceful bunch, prolly cuz their foreskins were intact.

I don't know why it would be. My brother and l were circumcised. Most people l grew up with and took gym with were circumcised. We were not a violent group. Why would you suggest that. It seems like a huge leap to me.

It’s one of the leaps Ronald Goldman takes in his book Circumcision, The Hidden Trauma. He covers many bases.
