Family and health

Any one on here who’s the only health one in family? By that I mean, major health issues, that pretty much preclude a normal life. Personally been dealing with for 15+ years and it can get quite frustrating. Hints and suggestion can go both ways.

People go through a burn out. You need a vacation.

That is very true, from work and home. Thanks for the words. Now to find a place where the Pups and I can go.

My mother is 90 or 91 depending what day you ask her. I am only male still around and I had been telling my 4 sisters I will be the last to go. Last physical found me with deficiency of vitamin D and thats it... ouch! I been ignoring a depression diagnosis for over 25 years? I just started lifting weights again at 64 out of boredom. Never seen a viagra pill. Now after everything dangerously lived and survived... I seldom drink and never medicate in any form. I am the Healthy Knuclehead One that will live as long as he wants.

This may sound dismissive, but I don't mean it to be when I say see a therapist. If I'm reading the post correctly, it sounds like you're experiencing caretaker burnout. A therapist can help figure out ways to make these things less frustrating.

Defenitely has been a thought.

I have Borderline Personality Disorder (causes severe anxiety among other things), post heart attack/quadruple bypass, Stage 4 Kidney Disease due to Polycystic Kidney Disease, and COPD and fluid retention. There are some days that I get out of breath just going to the bathroom. My sister, who likes to believe she's a nurse (she was a dialysis technician) likes to rag on me about my fluid intake, lack of exercise, weight.

I know she means well, but I'm exausted from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep. I do try to exercise and watch what I eat, but apparently that isn't good enough for her. Hell, she even insists on going to my doctor's appointments.

The interesting part of all of this is that she keeps ragging on me about my salt intake. I eat more salt at her house than I do at mine.
