Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar is 15th and current President of Afghanistan and the co-founder of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
The de facto leader of the newly declared Islamic Emirate was raised in the birthplace of his insurgent group and jailed in 2010 — until the US (Trump) requested his release in 2018.
So how exactly were we to defend the Afghans from the Taliban when the co-founder of the Taliban is the current president of Afghanistan?

Sweet, and maybe, just maybe he'll give him the licensing rights for red keffiyehs with a slogan along the lines of "Make Afghanistan Great Again".
