Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) on Sunday expressed unease about the Republican Party winning the congressional majority in the 2022 midterms if it continues on its current trajectory, a rare instance of a sitting congressman breaking with his own party on whether it should win elections.

They can be held in check. They are a minority, especially the Trumplicans. All it requires is Democrats and moral Republicans to come be as dedicated and show up at the poles and vote. We can overwhelm even the cheating and rigging if we just show up in our true numbers. And there are dozens of really good Democrats running against the worst of the Trumplicans that may pull some disgusted Republicans to the D column.
