Yerp, every US war since World War II has been a war of choice. And Roosevelt did everything in his considerable economic and diplomatic power to goad Japan into attacking us, so it's not exactly like we were dragged into that war unwillingly. Hell, thinking it over, pretty much every US war has been a war we chose.

Sometimes war is inevitable as was WWII. WWI would have to have been prevented in order to prevent WWII. China currently is playing the aggressor in the S. China sea. Hopefully minds will be transformed and war avoided but it seems unlikely.
