We live in a time of Nation States which have borders, laws, governments, religions, cultures and sub-cultures etc.
So unless we all submit to a single overlord and his or her will, becoming a single unified humanity then we find ourselves in the terrible situation of having to fight and kill to preserve our way of life.
Big battles with heavy casualties can harden the resolve of an aggressor to fight harder for victory and accept the losses, but the constant drip, drip, drip of the military life blood coming home in body bags and wheelchairs with lost minds causes the ordinary people to turn away from war more readily.

The stupidity of it all... Sad to know that innocent people are having their last days over this. I see parallels with the brainwashing of the Russian people and the brainwashing of the people here who are more than ready for a civil war over monkey-brained bullshit. The Putin praises on conservative media here seem to have halted since much of the West has fully condemned this war. Even the popular idiots with a podium still bow to a public social spanking. Memories are short; footage lasts indefinitely. Feels naive to say this, but I hope this thing makes the right people reevaluate the potential superficiality of their tribal affiliations. But that kind of hope is prone to disappoint.
