“Oil prices are decreasing, gas prices should too. Last time oil was $96 a barrel, gas was $3.62 a gallon. Now it’s $4.31. Oil and gas companies shouldn’t pad their profits at the expense of hardworking Americans.” -President Joe Biden

"It’s no secret to anyone who has filled up their tank in the last few weeks that all across the country, Americans are paying more and more for gas. In fact, nearly two-thirds of Americans find the high price of gas to be a very or somewhat serious problem, according to recent polling data."

"But while Americans are paying more at the pump, big oil companies are paying LESS to produce that gas. It’s like they are keeping gas prices artificially high in order to maximize their profits at our expense."

"The behavior of these oil companies is outrageous and not at all how the market is supposed to work."

Big oil already gets a tremendous tax break from the govt. if you eliminate that tax break they will only push it onto the consumer. add additional taxes onto their so called profits and they will pass it onto the consumer. industry does not absorb additional costs (such as changes in tax) without passing it on to you and me. almost all companies work that way.

We are witnessing a campaign by GQP-directed industries to damage the Biden tenure. The phony inflation, blamed on the supply chain, the Fed interest increases, and the increases in energy costs are a cynical, coordinated effort to damage the economy and democrat prospects.

Very true.

Capitalism and corporate greed plus a world largely dependent on oil means these companies can do whatever they want. What are we going to do? We can't just stop driving vehicles. We have no power to force these companies to lower their prices. They have billions of dollars and bribe our government more than a hundred million dollars each year through lobbyists.
