Biological males should not compete against biological women in women's sports for money or scholarships. It is a bridge too far and a losing argument. But wonderful for fascists who want to win seats and deprive women AND Trans of what rights they have.

I don't think sports are really all that important or consequential
I agree, but for young ladies seeking those scholarships, it is important. Also, the people in Red States show particular obsession with sports. Upon hearing that their daughters must compete against trans biological males, their sports fanaticism and their religious bigotry are both triggered. That makes this issue a winner in those Red States and in Red counties of Blue States.
It's the same sort of emotional hook that got W. Bush reelected in 2004, even after the torture in Abu Ghraib. Except that then it was gay marriage, which also has no importance nor consequence.
