A change is blowin' in the wind... 'Ivermectin Thrust Back Into Spotlight on Twitter After Elon Musk Takeover'
Newsweek reported:

Just hours after the news broke of billionaire Elon Musk‘s $44 billion purchase of Twitter, ivermectin, the anti-parasitic drug touted as a possible treatment for COVID-19, is once again trending on the social media platform.

Ivermectin was the sixth most popular topic on Twitter in the U.S. on Tuesday afternoon, with more than 46,000 tweets, suggesting that many users were under the impression that the term had been previously censored on the platform.

In fact, the name of the treatment has never been banned, although it has been just one of a number of popularly cited treatments for COVID-19 that has remained controversial throughout the global pandemic.

Statistically significant improvements are seen for mortality, ventilation, ICU admission, hospitalization, recovery, cases, and viral clearance. All remain significant after exclusions. 53 studies from 48 independent teams in 22 different countries show statistically significant improvements in isolation (39 primary outcome, 36 most serious outcome). Ivermectin is irrelevant. More than 5 billion covid vaccinations have been administered across the world. That's about 65% of the population. Many countries are well above 80% vaccination rate. In the U.S. we're just over 77%.

Let's put aside the fact that ivermectin is for horses and has not been proven an effective treatment for Covid... we don't need it.

If you are unwilling to believe the science that shows that the covid vaccinations work, then why are you willing to believe that ivermectin works BETTER than the covid vaccine?

Countries with the highest rates of vaccination have done much worse than countries with low rates of vaccination. Countries that used Ivermectin and HCQ saw CV 1 disappear without major vaccination campaigns.

India did well when they administered IVM.

@BDair You site a questionable source. [mediabiasfactcheck.com]

That is a website known to spread misinformation about Covid and ivermectin.

And if this were true then countries with little or no Covid vaccination would be doing equally as well as countries with high Covid vaccination rates which isn't true.

Most African countries vaxxed less than 10% of their populations. Israel vaxxed most of their population, many with one or two boosters.

@BDair Okay, there's a credible source. Good job. But a graph doesn't tell the whole story and the reason that Africa suffered less Covid deaths is due to multiple factors. For example, the average age of people in Africa is about 20 years old, which is almost half that of the U.S. and many other industrialized countries. Also, people in Africa spend more time outdoors while people in the U.S. spend a lot of time indoors (homes, offices, malls, grocery stores, gyms, restaurants, etc).

As for Isreal, their Covid infection and death rates were very high because they started re-opening public venues back in March 2021 and ended all restrictions in June 2021. And even though many people were vaccinated, crowds of unmasked people are going to spread disease. Then the Delta variant hit while everything was open.

So... there ya go. I hope I helped clear things up for you. Next time please just look this stuff up yourself.

NPR has a strong pro vax bias. Here is a piece from that same time period with a different perspective. [emmaolivetz.wordpress.com]

Yes, Covid deaths are certainly age stratified, but the Africa piece fails to note that HCQ is in wide use as an anti-malarial.

Just what you would expect see after an effective vaccination program. A massive rise in cases. Flattened that curve right out. [ourworldindata.org]

@BDair Reality has a strong pro vax bias, as does the vast majority of scientists and doctors in the world. This Kohlmayer person isn't a doctor or scientist so his opinion on the matter is of no interest to me. Also, malaria is not Covid.

Also, the chart you posted shows cases, not deaths. In January 2022 the Omicron variant hit. Omicron is more contagious but less dangerous. A few months after that people began getting the Covid booster. So maybe that had something to do with it.

How about you go take your horse medicine and leave the science and medicine to the scientists and the doctors?

Can you point to where on this chart the effect of the safe and effective vaccines can be shown to significantly reduce the mortality rate?

@BDair Can you point to me on that chart (or any trustworthy chart) in which ivermectin miraculously cured everyone of Covid?

Yes.

@BDair Sight your sources or else its just hearsay.

The state Health Department introduced Ivermectin as prophylaxis for close contacts of Covid patients, health workers as well as for the treatment of the patients themselves through a government order on August 6, 2020, after a committee headed by the Director General, Medical and Health Services, gave it the go ahead.

“Uttar Pradesh was the first state in the country to introduce large-scale prophylactic and therapeutic use of Ivermectin. In May-June 2020, a team at Agra, led by Dr Anshul Pareek, administered Ivermectin to all RRT team members in the district on an experimental basis. It was observed that none of them developed Covid-19 despite being in daily contact with patients who had tested positive for the virus,” Uttar Pradesh State Surveillance Officer Vikssendu Agrawal said. Do you have any trustworthy sources that don't publish misinformation?

@BDair You've neither provided sources nor proven my sources untrustworthy. You have zero credibility.

Re: Your study above. "Between March and August 2021, 679 patients received a daily dose of ivermectin over the course of 3 days. The researchers found that ivermectin didn’t reduce the risk that people with COVID-19 would be hospitalized or go to an emergency room within 28 days after treatment." Their 'treatment' did not follow established and proven protocols. They gave a minimal dosage in only three doses. With Ivermectin, it is safe to give a larger dosage until treatment is complete. You take antibiotics until the course is done, not just once a day for three days. Ivermectin is used effectively in combination with Zinc, Vit. D, and other elements. [covid19criticalcare.com]

@BDair [mediabiasfactcheck.com]

Your sources are demonstrably biased and misinformed. Your belief in something does not make it fact.

@BDair I haven't stated any beliefs. You haven't proven any issues regarding my sources. You have zero credibility.
