In the case of ignorant geophobic Americans they want to turn every other country into a reflection of American stupidity or sycophantic mercenary so that they are not embarrassed by seeing superiority & intelligence not evident in the USA. Anything that does permeate their consciousness they usually try to steal or if unable they demean, denigrate it or murder human threat.
