It helps if you have a clean license. I made it sound like I don't normally speed, not exactly truthful.

He was disappointed that I wasn't a young guy with points on his license I think.

@MizJ i have but i prefer to keep it under 60 or so. its a lot of fun. daily driver. slow is my general setting anyway.

@hankster I had a base model Honda CRX that was less than 100 horses. I would shut the A/C off when on the entrance ramp and put it back on when I got it up to speed. A friend was riding with me one day and almost fell out he was laughing so hard.

@MizJ that is funny. was that just your "need for speed"? friend had a ford escort way back. it woulnd'nt hardly go uphill. we would joke about getting out and walking.

@hankster The SI was faster than mine. They drive 80 or so MPH on the highways here and it was less scary having those few extra horses, especially with all the semis and huge SUVs.

@MizJ i hear you. need some zip sometimes. i avoid the hurrying when i can. mostly backroad miles for me.

@hankster I call I-95 in Florida the Great American Road Race, it's insane. The tourists and old people don't help.

@MizJ you name it well. in my exp. any over-populated string of civilization makes for crazy highway stuff. nationwide. there are always old folks and tourists in fla. more than most. good thing they don't let tractors and combines on the interstates here lol.
