Most religions have pedo problems because they put church image before the well being of their members. Meaning they try to hide anything that may damage the image of the church, even if it means the molestation of children.

Homosexuality is not the same as pedophilia, about which scriptures say essentially nothing. Shame on the authors of scripture for claiming to be teaching and seeking love, but cruelly rejecting homosexuality. The failure to accept homosexual love as a form of love is one of the strongest arguments against Christianity (and Catholicism which has a thing for homosexuality).

The brain damage caused by intense religious belief stunts both normal sexual development and empathic capability (and much more). This damage results in a significant shift in sexual proclivities, and indifference to the pain of others. Those suffering from these defects feel guilt when faced with how their behavior (real or imagined) is scorned in scripture. This guilt is then projected outward, seeking to place the blame for negative feelings on the flock, or on the outside world.

It is the height of irony that the same homophobia that made its way into scripture ends up increasing the behavior that it excoriates.

The rcc has a pedo problem because they have NEVER dealt with the fact they have never vetted any of their priests, OR their nuns, OR any of their staffers.

The communists haven't infiltrated the rcc any more than the nazis did.
Sure, the rcc worked with the nazis, because they felt it was in their best interests at the time.
It's possible they're working with the communists in a manner they feel benefits them, but it has nothing to do with their long and disgusting history of sexual predation.

The rcc has been playing musical priests for hundreds of years, all over the world.
Their ongoing pedo problem stems from their complete lack of consideration for anyone but themselves.
It's always been about keeping power and keeping the money rolling in.

The rcc's crimes against humanity goes FAR beyond just the sexual assault of children. And includes more than just priests.

Cases of the skeletal remains of thousands of infants in convents is widely known.
Homes for unwed mothers were rife with abuse. Children were taken from their families and put up (or sold) for adoption.
In Ireland, it wasn't uncommon for the church to take children from fathers, whose wives had died, and put them up for adoption.

While it may seem unusual for the church to have that kind of authority, countries like Ireland used to treat the church as an extension of the government. They had unlimited and unchecked power.

In many places, they still do.

So, to be absolutely clear, the communists don't have anywhere near the power the rcc still does. They wish they did.

Currently, the Russian orthodox church is in league with Putin. They aren't considered catholics by the rcc, or other catholics.

Hell, the mafia never had as much power and as the rcc. They sure as hell learned from them though.

The rcc ought to be sued into bankruptcy and oblivion.

Sorry for the long-winded response, but I hold a deeply-rooted hatred for the rcc.
I'm no fan of communism, but the rcc is far worse, and far more evil.

Pedophilia is not only in the Catholic Church. All other religions are also guilty.
