Posting to aid in the debate over what is socialist exactly? communist/ capitalist? What is democracy?
What best describes your country's position on the political spectrum? Australia was definitely a socialist democracy, until we started selling govt run utilities like ports/ CBA/ power/ railways/ telecommunications etc
Hopefully. this one (link) does not tick every single box with your country. Australia is leaning this way. Some are already there, ticking every single box.

6: Media is not biased and influenced by corporate sponsors? State agencies like the FBI have never attempted to censor information being reported?
11: Books are being burned. Dissenting scientific voices on a current medical emergency, how were they treated?
14: When a political party suppresses a popular candidate to instead have their own choice for the top job.......I call that a rigged election with national implications. "use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media." rings a bell for me.
Don't feel too bad, your country would not be like that if piss weak countries like mine didn't fawn and kowtow with all you do. This encourages the status quo. Assange is a symbol of that.
