I truly knew Repugs were nasty and cruel when (i think under Reagan) they tried to get relish and ketchup classed as acceptable schoolchildren's veggies.
Nothing they have pushed for since has changed my mind

We met a lady on vacation about 20 years ago who ran a grade school for migrant workers' children in rural Dade county south Florida. She said she considered any day a good day if she managed to serve the kids a good lunch.
We donated all we could but there are situations where you just feel sick that you can't do more.
