The whole argument that people can opt out is ridiculous, especially when you are dealing with youth. In the early 70's, at high school, I refused to say the flag salute EXCEPT on those few mornings when it occurred in gym class. An all male gym class, in the locker room - sure. Even the Jehovah's Witness in that class abandoned his values. He and I would mumble shit back-and-forth at each other on those few mornings.

Even the (previous Supreme Court ) has ruled no one can be forced to recite the pledge (because of the under god ) crap. More right wing haggling over what should be established policy.
