That is how fascism works, whether in Nazi Germany, Chile, or here. The people who are part of the majority tribe, need to speak up and stand up, early and often, for the persecuted and targeted groups, or else the fascists end up winning. But I don't forsee that ever happening here, as far as the targeted being stood up for and supported, because America has mostly been sold on extreme individualism, dog eat dog competition, and most liberals stand for nothing and will fight for and risk their own safety and comfort for nothing, except shallow identity politics and culture war stuff. Nothing at all like standing up for unions, low wage workers, and risking their own place in the class system, to help those in lower classes in the class warfare waged by the rich and corporations.
