Taken today at daughter Claire Valdez and Gage's new house. Brought them still-warm banana nut muffins I baked (recipe from Cooking Light.) Yum!
I made this yellow throw pillow for Gabi, Gage's six-year-old daughter. Gabi wanted yellow sheets in her room but Claire couldn't find that color. Claire choose soft purple/white with little flowers.
Earlier I sprayed the throw pillow twice with ScotchGard fabric protector that repels liquids and blocks stain. While whip-stitching the edges together, I jabbed my finger on a pin and got blood on both sides of the pillow. Oh no!
Springing into action, I sprayed the blood with Shout Action Gel (with 70% more stain-fighting power) followed by Dawn dish detergent. Rinsed out the blood with cold running water. It worked. Yay!
I like that vibrant yellow!
Gabi loves the small yellow pillow.
@LiterateHiker I'm sure she does. It was made with love.
Love the color, nice and bright! Yesterday I found a spot of blood on a quilt I was putting together. When you work with pins and needles there are many opportunities for inadvertent blood donation. I dropped some hydrogen peroxide on it, and then some soap, and a rinse, and then pressed it to dry it out so I could continue sewing the quilt together. It worked, thank goodness.
