Most places allow declawing a painful operation.
I do not approve. It is cruel and vicious. Get yourself a fuzzy toy and leave the live animals alone.
Twenty years back, I had the cat declawed not knowing it was an amputation vs removal of the claw. The last two cats have been left with claws. It really is pretty easy to train the cat to use a post to scratch, rub a little catnip on the surface, good to go. If the cat is uncooperative for trimming, bundling the cat works great. The cat may not like it but it gets the job done.
I used to use the nail clippers to trim the really sharp tips off to save my flesh. I saw my old girl in her youth disembowel a good sized(5" ) skink simply be extending her middle claw to slowly slice its abdomen wide open so its intestines fell out!
NO NO NO, That's just wrong on so many levels!!!

Posted by LaurenIt would be warmer for us both if he'd get on my lap, but it has to be his idea - though he still likes to stay close.
