Could it be that cats that do this have in one of their previous lives lived through a war or like experience thinking of this as a fox hole. Thoughts?

I can’t say for sure - cats are mysterious. Perhaps it’s a cozy cool ‘lap’ that never moves around?
The sink is a bed, the tub is a playpen.

My old girl used to sleep in my sinks. I think she liked the cool feeling from the porcelain.
