Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.My one cat follows me around or comes to sit with me watching tv or in my office. Then he'll follow me if I go to the bathroom or kitchen signaling that it's time to go to bed. Sometimes, he'll sit and stare at me, too.

Feline party planners!
When I was growing up we had a cat that chose me as her person. She slept with me every night. Being in school I usually went to bed about 8 pm. One night my sister persuaded our dad to let us stay up late to watch something on TV. At 8 the cat was on the stairs waiting for me to go up to bed. at 9 she was agitated. At 10 she was thoroughly disgusted with me, and so was the rest of the family. She kept meowing and pacing. Poor baby

I've had some possessive cats too!
@kmdskit3 She didn't like her schedule to be disrupted.
I've had cats all of my life - and I've never understood how some people could say they were cold or aloof. They bond to - and love - people fiercely. The also seem to be able to "suss out" people who give off negative vibes...
@Lavergne My daughter has a cat who is not stranger friendly, and not even all that friendly towards my daughter and her husband. That cat is not bonded to anyone, but we don't know what had happened to that cat before her husband got it. I have almost always chosen cats that bonded well with me and with others.
@HippieChick58 I'm pretty sure that poor kitty had some kind of trauma early on. I do know a number of people who said their "shelter cat" seemed to have adjustment problems.
