My sister is the only person to give the cats wet food, because we know, from having had lots of cats over our liftimes, that they lie about having been fed.
So, this morning, every time I go downstairs, the boy cat keeps tryign to convince me that he is starving. Granted the (wet) food dishes have been cleaned out completely, but they have dry food and the water is also full.
Still, he is an awfully convincing liar. If we hadn't worked oitu a system, I'd probably have fallen for his spiel.

That is funny. However, my new cat, Zippy, doesn't ever touch wet food. He will only eat dry stuff.

What brand of dry food do you give Zippy?
@OldGoat43 But what brand of dry food? I think many here might want ot know what brand of dry food a cat might think is good enough to ignore wet food.
The last batch of my sister's cats (she had 3, all died within a few months aroudn age 16 for all of them) were dry food only, but one of them got sick and once one got wet food, they all had to have it. She got a new cat before the old ladies all died, and so the new cat got wet food too. Afer the last two old cats died she got a second cat, and of course he got wet food too.
@snytiger6 . I am concerned about the dry food being healthy enough for my fur babies. I chose a Purena bag of Indoor Fur Ball with Real Chicken. Zippy likes it but I really don't trust the big companies for their health claims. I'm going to keep looking for something that is healthy by won't cost every cent of mine to feed my cat.
I have an old girl (almost 21) who thinks she needs to be fed EVERY SINGLE TIME she hears me walk into the kitchen. There is no way I'm gonna win this one - so I feed her a big spoonful of her wet stuff every time. That makes her happy and keeps me sane (mostly)..... At her age - fuggeddabout any kind of dry food. She stopped eating that about a year ago.

If it wasn't for the age of the cat who probably can't handle the dry food anymore, this would be a great set up for a joke about your being "pussy whipped".

My brother and SIL's cat (Their "We're going to have children - let's try a cat first - cat" ) Willow - he once got my Mom to feed him - then I fed him - then my Brother fed him - when I saw my SIL going for the food dispenser with the cup and we were all in the kitchen at the same moment? We figured out how many of us had all fed the poor starving boy!
He was awesome at saying he hadn't been fed all night. "No me? I'm STARVING!".
Here I free feed my three. And they get wet food in the morning. The dishes stay down until my roommate also sees them - so that she isn't convinced they WEREN'T fed. Because we know THEM!
This system works no matter who gets up first. Then the dishes go thru the wash and back up on the counter (With the canned food) for the next day.
You might want to add a step to the system? lol

Our system is that there is only one person designated to give them wet food. If that person is away then the job is assigned to just one other person. So far, even though they definitely try, the cats hven't broken the system yet.

No, he was trying to tell me he hadn't eaten since yesterday morning. You can tell by the level of "pathetic" tone he puts into his meow.
