I love cats & dogs, for similar & different reasons. Cats are surely "easier" if you're out a lot as they don't have to be walked & seldom get "separation anxiety" to the levels some dogs can. I don't really mind folks that aren't "pet people" that much, at least not near as much as the dog lovers that hate cats, for no real reason. & some people should not ever be around animals, or children, as they're cruel a-holes! But, to answer the question, no, I don't agree, I think it depends on the "man", I think a man without empathy is not a man, cat or no.

@SACatWalker A friend's cat died on his lap at 24 and according to the net the oldest known was 40 years old. But I think my girl is becoming demented.
