They tend to cause us much happiness and little grief (except for when they leave) while they are here.

You should post a picture or two. .

That's a tuff thing to deal with, sorry to hear. I have 4 buried around the side of my house, Roseberry, Molly, Peaches & Napoleon. It helps me to have their pictures hanging on the wall to remember them by. And here is a quote that helps me:

I am so sorry. Letting a beloved pet go is so hard. I hope you know that he knew he was loved while he was with you. Let yourself grieve. And then consider giving that love to another soul. <3

I am so sorry! Losing a loved pet can be very hard.

Sorry to learn your misfortune. I had to do the same with my old 22 yo. last week. All being well I go off to bury her tomorrow.
