What is the up-side to having kids? I can't see it at all, it must be amazing to out-weigh the down-side which is all I can see.
"Legacy", Old age care, hormone spike from body changes that happen during pregnancy..... Nothing I care about....
Many people have kids to 'take care' of them 'in their old age'. The wrongness of this statement speaks for itself.
I could think of a few, but they're just flashes in the pan. An example would be celebrating Christmas and holidays . I think the holidays would be more fun with young kids, But they grow out of that too. As I've mentioned before, which is not in any way a guarantee, you would have someone there to support you as you Grew Older and became unable to take care of yourself. Although having kids for that reason would be a very selfish.
Agree with the bit about looking after me in my dotage, and Christmas. But we'll have to agree to differ on holidays when they seem even more needy.
The scales are still well in favour of none, i.m.o.
It was a deal breaker for me and my Ex!
