I'm getting a tubal!!

So I thought for sure I'd need to doctor shop - but this angel of a doctor said it was no problem. I just need to pick a two-week window and request a little time off work. She even thinks I'm a good candidate for ablation which has me all kinds of excited. Apparently 35 is the magic age. Hooray for me!

Initially, I thought this said “I’m getting a tuba.” Tubal makes a lot more sense.

Every time the notification to the post pops up, I question whether I typoed it or not...

Yay, and speedy recovery to you. Take care of yourself. I hear it's not that difficult to get back on your feet.

That's great! I finally got "permission" from doctors/insurance when I was 35 too! The whole system sucks. Had three ablations in total -- age 29, age 33, and age 35. Best things ever.

You need a doctor's permission to get a tuba? Oh ... wait ...

It's a lot easier for doctors to respect a man's wishes. My late husband had a vasectomy at 26. More than likely they would have laughed me out of the office for a 26 year old female with no children to want to be sterilized.

@Kojaksmom I know. I just found my first reading amusing. Small l followed by several exclamation points made the "l" go away when I read it and I was honestly wondering what taking up a musical instrument had to do with a doctor. And I would have needed the missing noun to go with the adjective, to have immediately understood it anyway (tubal ligation). But that's me being a dude and not having to know the shorthand lingo.

I think it's intelligent for women not to rely on the good will and honesty of every future sex partner for contraception, but personally I got a vasectomy 25+ years ago and never looked back ...

Good luck!!
