Hi, I just joined...

I have been told from beast to h...e for not wanting to have kids. Why is so difficult for people to understand human beings are individual thinkers, have different opinions...that motherhood is not for everybody...that, in fact. for some women it would be a burden....Why a woman is not a woman unless she is also a mother.
I have been asked if I was abused as a child. No, people, I wasn't. In fact, I don't like / dislike kids...

Maggie, I read your opening line ("Have you all noticed that in political discourse people without kids are usually treated, at best, as though we don't exist?) and am glad I read read your bio and some of your posts before I responded.

Had I responded right away I would have asked why you let people treat you as if childless people don't exist.

I'm childless because I didn't want to do to any more children what my parents did to their children. I married a woman who had her own reasons to remain childless.

I found Yang interesting but knew he has yet to make himself known. He now has four years to do that. I'm frying bigger fish.

Voters in 33 states have zero democracy. They elect people who can become their predators.

Single, childfree people aren't considered to be an important voting bloc. With the number of childfree people on the rise hopefully this will change.
