Being childfree is a great way to live, however the child-free people (and those with kids too) do face challenges as we grow older. Has anyone given much thought about issues like wills, living wills, and how/where we will retire when it's impossible to take care of ourselves. I'm always looking for advice on these subjects

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.We have been thinking about living wills. we've gone back and forth between giving the property to a good friend who would use it, or a non-profit. The animals my brother would be in charge of finding homes for them (with a couple people being outright banned from receiving them). retirement... not sure. I really kind of hope to never have to have someone push me around in a chair and change my diaper, that's not living to me, that's wretched.

I wish I had advice for you, but I'm been having the same thoughts lately. Sadly I think I'm going to have to depend on the state.

And this is where we need to think outside the box and come up with some solutions. Even people that have children may die alone and be in the same boat, but they're much more likely to have people looking out for them as they age.
