The QAnon shaman guy was in the Navy. I'm reluctant to call him a vet. He made it two years and was let out as a seaman apprentice E2. You do bootcamp as an E1, then automatically make E2. Then, after a year, total service, you make E3. He must have been a pretty shitty sailor.

Even I got to E5 before I got out, and I got busted for someone taking a photograph of me shooting a bird seemingly right at the camera during a Japanese anti nuclear protest in 1978. My captain UCMJed me twice for the same offense so back to back 90 days extra duty, back to back 90 days extra duty. A total of six days bread and water. Six months of suspended pay. But he was nice enough to only bust me once.
My experience in the military was, different.

It's similar in the Army with some allowance for higher rank based on education in the beginning. My guess is he was probably given a medical discharge after being disciplined under the UCMJ pretty regularly.

Oh yeah, he was gotten out for refusing a vaccine.
