With all the legal troubles said to be waiting for the end of DJT’s presidency, I’m wondering why none have started yet. Are they being held until after Senate action on his impeachment, or are there other reasons for the delay?

Yeah, this doesn't surprise me. I said all along there was no way we'd ever see Trump in jail. If they were really building a case (or cases) against him over the past 4, they'd have arrested his ass as he stepped off the plane in Florida, no?

No, there is still a lot that has to happen. Don't expect anything to happen quickly. We are talking about very comlex cases that can take years to develop, and trumps lawyers are still throwing roadblocks up.
@glennlab That's my point. It has been years.
@JeffMurray They have been fighting over access to evidence that they have been denied access to up until now. Forensic accounting and marriage to the other data will take time.
@glennlab There's plenty of laws that recordings of the president himself are the only evidence needed for a slam dunk conviction. They can continue to investigate, , and try him for the next several decades after he's already in prison, but they already have him dead to rights right now if they wanted. That's why I don't think anyone has any interest in actually trying to put him behind bars; they already have everything they need if they did.

The state of NY runs slow. But it is coming. Same with the law suits. Just because there are no screaming headlines doesn't mean things - like lawyers talking - aren't occurring.
