Absolutely needs to be tied to CPI or inflation or anything that gets them to living wage.

I do support increasing wages. It's an effective way of taking from the rich and giving to the poor at a time when inequality at the highest levels in living memory.
That said it would make more sense to compare minimum wage with minimum rent or average wage with average rent.
