Beto is a Texas Democrat. Texas Dems are more like repub lite without the hatred for emigrants. Democrats in Texas have to pretty much vote for what their constituents want unless they can show them a good reason for voting against their wishes. I think if he ran for President he could be a lot less repub lite like he has been while in office here in Texas.

@Closeted I'm thinking best to watch his behavior and the things he chooses to run on. I'm a realist and know I can't have everything I want in a candidate.
@Closeted, @dan325 I agree on that! We need a major change in where this Country is headed and the leaders who will take us in that new direction. I am truly hoping for younger, more progressive people to run in 2020. We need new blood.

@Closeted I agree, and no, it's not to much to ask for decency. We sure as hell need some thanks to trump. We need to hold our representatives accountable for what they do. We vote then go on our way, living our lives not really paying attention to them while they write laws to benefit themselves and usually end up making our lives harder. We have the control if only we would come together and use it!
@Closeted and that's what politicians count on. That's why people like Mitch McConnell are in power. Our Country is in a sad state due to non participation of the constituency.
