Servers in Ky minimum is $2.13 an hour. The same as it was forty years ago when I worked as what then was called a waitress. Even that long ago servers were taxed on the dollar amount of their sales. You worked for tips only because your paycheck was eaten up by taxes. And most day shift jobs tips sucked. Especially when you had bus loads of Christians come in. They are cheap bastards.

To pay for a one bedroom apartment and food you need at least $20 an hour. One thing I love about Costco, they pay their employees $21 an hour, have decent hours, and offer benefits. All companies (that can afford to) should be doing this.

If companies were not saddled with providing health care they could pay more in slsaries.

@Sticks48 well now that’s another issue, isn’t it!

@altschmerz It is part of the same issue.

What I expect is that those douche bags will be thrown out of office and then indicted.

Yes, indeed. It's a sad state of affairs.

The sad truth is that the wealthy donors who keep our Congress critters in office make sure that the minimum wage stays as low as possible so that the wealthy and their businesses and corporations can pocket more money. They simply don't care about the people who work for these low salaries.
