Im a member of the closest Humanists and Atheists meetup groups but no longer attend the meetings because they are predominantly retired elderly people and I find the meetings boring.

I'm not, because I've spread my time so thin already that to seek out another group to be active in would be sadistic. As lame as it is, I'm trying to stabilize what I've got going now and hope that once my kids are older I'll still have fire in my belly.

I'm active because I want a group to exist in my area to counter the presence of religious groups. Churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, and other religious buildings are all over the place. The leaders of the groups that use these buildings are given privileges that are often not earned. I feel I can't complain unless I'm doing something about it.
