Yes it is. However it's mainly the USA that has freedom of speech for all its citizens. It could take decades for rest of the world to be that way. I'm sure religion is slowing it down to an crawl.

But we need to be constantly vigilant of forces in our country trying to silence people who don’t believe the way they believe. We have seen this recently during the Kavanaugh hearings when the Republicans called protestors “mobs”. Very dangerous to our constitutional right to free speech.
Yes....Ireland have just voted in a referendum to abolish it....65% - 35% . They are becoming a really progressive country, unlike some others who are in regression!
