Back on July 23rd I posted pictures of my Alcantarea imperilais' emerging bloom stock. No flowers yet but I thought you might be interested in an update. Taken a few days ago. I'm always out in the garden between 6 and 7 in the morning to feed and walk the dogs. But I have to remember to come back out in the late morning for the best light to shoot this bromeliad. (Darned photos still turn sideways sometimes on this site.) [Photos 1-4]

Another update: I'd been wondering if the Beshornaria 'Flamingo Glow' would pup after flowering and so far it has three, two in front and one behind. I look forward to having it becoming a fuller presence in the garden. [Photos 5,6] I've included earlier photos of this plant coming into bloom this past spring, ranging from January 30 for the first to May 3 for the last. [Photos 7-10] In photo #8 you can see the bromeliad in the background.

Looks like you rotate the camera to get the most of the flower in the photos . Each photo will need to be , "righted," before you upload them .

They were all loaded together and up right but for some reason some have become twisted in the process. I don’t know why that happens or how to fix it.

The background shots of the garden are, even more interesting.

That's always true for me as well. While it is good to get a plant portrait for ID purposes, plants are always a member of a community and I also enjoy seeing their neighbors and neighborhood.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
