This was taken in Arizona many years ago, don't remember the name of the cactus but it has beautiful blooms.

OOOOHH! Fishhook cactus!! I had one like this YEAR'S ago. I found it in the desert around Yuma and took it home. It loved catching me when I got too close and then forgot to NOT pull back. Eventually I turned it over to a greenhouse owned when I had a little kid running around the house. Would have returned it to the desert but I had moved from Arizona, back to Kansas and it would not have survived in the wild here. It is beautiful.

Yes that's what it's called duh can't think today and my father on my mind. Kansas wow what a drastic move, I used to live in northwest Arkansas.

Stunning. I used to keep flowering cacti myself. There's nothing like them.

They are so vibrant!

Yep and they only bloom one time a year.

I think, if I remember my excursions up in Huachuca Canyon... that is a rainbow cactus.

It's a very small cactus around 5 in tall. The thorns are shaped like fish hooks kind of neat.
