I grew some USDA Certified cotton and transplanted into the garden. It bloomed some time last night, a full month ahead of commercial cotton crops in the county!

I've seen them with the cotton balls but never the bloom, it's quite pretty.

I've never seen what the cotton plant looks like before. Thank you for the photo.

That's amazing! I had no idea that cotton bloomed at night......... but I've never lived within cooee of a place where it's grown. How long do the flowers remain before they die off and turn into the cotton ball?

This is organic so I can't say how long the flower will be around. Not long, maybe a week is my guess.

I just now checked yesterday's bloom and it's gone. It may have been pollinated or it may just be how this particular variety of organic cotton blooms?? I have some green cotton seed that I may try next year!

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
