A thoughtful aunt sent me a present for the holidays, bulbs to sprout and transplant in the spring time.

I am jealous! I have no bulbs!

I'm sorry. Pity we're not in a local activity so I could share.

@WarmFluffy That's ok. I might pick some up later.

were they prechilled, or are you going to do it. Tulips in the south should be refrigerated for maximum blooms.

That's new to me. Should I chill them?

@WarmFluffy in the vegetable crisper bin, normally 45 days to get your best blooms.

@WarmFluffy it is not necessary for the narcissist, check your packaging, a lot have been pre chilled, so they can go straight into the ground.

Tulips, narcissus and muscari/hyacinth are all fall planting bulbs which bloom early in the spring. You should be able to force some of them in pots. Depending on what your garden zone is you may be able to plant them now.

Love Tulips and, in the Spring they are everywhere in my garden. Maybe you should think of coming to my area (Skagit County) if you want to see more Tulips, Hyacinths and Daffodils than you could possibly dream of as Mt. Vernon Washington State is the Tulip capital of the country and even ship these flowers to Holland. [ecosia.org]

What a wonderful gift! Nothing better than a gift that keeps on giving year after year. Be sure to post pics of the flowers, I'm sure they will be beautiful.

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
