I enjoy sharing information and learning about wine. I also make my own fruit and berry wines at home. I always dreamed of growing my own wine grapes but that is just not possible up here in Alaska so I am fortunate that berries do very well here - both wild and domestic. I do grow my own. I happen to have 5 gals. of Rhubarb wine fermenting right now. I call it "Rhu de Barb le blanc" - Ha! I prefer dry wines myself with a good fruit forward flavor. Rhubarb reminds me of a Sauvignon Blanc but with a definite Rhubarb tone and goes well with our wild Alaska salmon.

Hi. The only wine I ever drink is Cabernet Sauvignon. It's just that it's the only one I know. If you are familiar with others like Pino Noir, Chianti etc., I'd be glad to hear your opinion.

I enjoy variety and learning about wine and where it was made. A good Napa Cab is my go-to for dinner wine with red meat and New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with Alaska salmon. A good Oregon Pinot Noir with rack of lamb. Nice oaked Chardonnay with other seafood and chicken. A light chilled Pinot Grigio for sipping on a hot afternoon... variety is the spice of life!

That's a great help. Thanks!

See if you can find Portuguese wine Brentan, anything from Alantejo (the central region) is very good value and high quality!

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
