Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Several years ago (when Castro was still in charge) the National Geographic did a long story on how so much of Cuba's land and ecology has been protected through it's austerity programs and lack of western economic meddling. Unfortunately, NG received a lot of blow-back from readers condemning it for putting nature before people.
Dirt is more important than people and our complete failure to realize this simple facts puts us in mother's nature cross hairs. People talk a lot about climate change and other environmental disasters but when push comes to shove few are willing to step up and do even little things (like change our eating habits or find more economical ways to get around or be willing to pay a little more for foodstuffs and fuels).
