The Beginning of the Straw Bale Garden
Six bales of straw on top of a weed barrier. It needs 7 days of watering (raining today), then lime and fertilizer. By the 10th day, the straw will have heated up, and I can add a little soil and plant the plants. Happy days. We still need to make a support structure ( stakes and string, I guess) and support of the tomatoes once they have taken hold. I'll post more pictures when there isd something to see.
This is going to be interesting I hope you have a lot of success
Thank you, Donto. I am excited. This year I have muscle to help me ( grandson Brendan)
I can’t wait to see your pics! I’m toying with the idea of doing this too.
Better get something fast growing up to hide that building across the road.
What? The church? We enjoy some of the Sunday concerts. It is an African American congregation, lovely singers!
@Spinliesel And it doesn't fall around your ears, the floor open and shoot you down to Wonderland, the woodworm attack your knuckles?

Posted by KateOahuI saw some pretty flowers on a walk today. I’d never seen a white Hibiscus before. And I do not know what the pink flowers are.
