Their ignorance of their own religion is unforgivable. Jesus would have been against all types of fornication. If they think they can take the laws of Christianity into the secular world, they should also be hauling adulterers, unmarried fornicators, even masturbators into the churches to be bullied into changing their lifestyles. It's terrifyingly close to what would happen under Sharia law.

I don't understand why people still think others can be converted through violence. If anything, it's likely to turn more people away from religion.

During colonialism, religion spread all around the world via the point of a gun. Trying to spread religion via violence is not a new thing. When a conquered people are given the choice of death or conversion, they usually convert.
Shor tof such a situation as stated above though violence doesn't work.
@snytiger6 I understand that it is not new, I just feel it is outdated. People will say anything to avoid death, that isn't true conversion.
