The death of teaching cursive is exaggerated. In MOST states it's required because without it, one can't write checks or read things written in cursive, like the Declaration of Independence.

It’s the secret code of the Boomers
I was under the impression that cursive was no longer taught in school.
I really thought I was on to something when I learned to write curse words in cursive.

Like you, I've been wrong before. Not that I mention it often.
It was eliminated by the common core bit .they figured wasting 1.5 years learning something that will be obsolete in 10 years was a waste and focused on keyboard skills, whinh most are pros at as toddlers these days, but some states brought it back after a small group fussed.
